The water was ice cold. Every single wave that swept across the briny deep caused deep and searing pain. What was once a beautiful undersea utopia was now under the whims of a tyrannical, iron fisted demon. Mothers were screaming for their now dead children. Men wasting away in dingy prison cells. Twenty years ago, this was my paradise. But in the uprising of undersea hell threw that all away. I stood there in the silence of my captor's dungeon. I looked at my dark, melancholy surroundings. I looked down on myself. My body mutated to the highest extent. Though it was like this in the happy twenty years before this, I began to look more and more like a humanoid. My square shape now that of a man. My once hairless head cropped with brown hair. My pores spread out on my cheeks. I shuddered and looked away. My eyes fell on the pointed skull of a long gone starfish. I winced and looked away at the remains of my once beloved companion. 20 years ago, while he was alive he was deathly ill. His pink skin grew paler everyday while he was with me. His once large stomach shrunk to the point where his ribs were visible. And soon enough, he was taken by the mechanical minions and was cruelly killed, for being sick and useless. I was strapped down to a chair and was forced to watch the whole horrific thing. Patrick looked at me and weakly smiled. "Don't worry, SpongeBob... Don't..."The final slice of the knife on my friend's flesh splattered crimson tears on me, which are still on my clothes to this day. I screamed out in pain as he was mercilessly slaughtered. I had never felt so horrible. They left his bones with me, for a reason I cannot explain. That day was the last straw. I vowed that I would one day bring down he who had caused my weary heart. But, only Neptune knew what day and what time I could let my plan come together... I peered over to the open door, and noted that the guard was in sleep mode. I froze. My eyes widened to an impossible extent.
Time... is the key!
''TIME IS THE KEY!!'' I screamed joyfully. I covered my mouth with my hands immediately. The guard robot stirred from his sleep. It lazily peered out of its optic lens, then drifted back into sleep. I sighed relief and carefully attempted to pick the lock with my fingernail. A sharp twinge of pain flooded the inside of my finger. I pulled it back and noticed I had nearly chipped my whole nail off. I looked around, cursing under my breath. I saw that a fork sat motionless on the floor, most likely from my last meal... a few months ago. I picked it up and jammed it into the tumblers of the lock. It clicked soundlessly and the lock broke off. I nodded my head and slowly opened the cell door. I carefully slipped through the ice cold bars and onto the dungeon floor. I slowly crept past the sleeping robot and into the dimly lit hallway. This hallway, this dungeon... it was once the Krusty Krab, my most sacred and beloved haven. Plankton had seized this place in his takeover and ordered it to be the foundation upon which his castle was to be built. All my dreams were in that Krab. Now they were shattered... I closed my eyes and clenched my fists until my knuckles turned white. I stopped after remembering that I had a mission. I peered into an open closet door. In there, I held the key to saving the past...
Chronos's space time continuum belt.

Chapter 2: the Power of Chronos
(Just because I'm mentioning a Greek god, it doesn't mean I'm atheist or that I worship Chronos. I just love Greek mythology. I do believe in God. I have also made a few changes to SpongeBob's original design. I made him a humanoid Sponge instead of one that is square. Reread the first chapter and see.)
There it lay. Right there on top of a dusty computer monitor. That computer was K.A.R.E.N. model 1.0, the prototype of Plankton's wife, before she was a metal anthropomorphic computer. I felt a deep pity in my heart for the rejected model. She truly was Plankton's love before the takeover. But never mind that matter, back to my mission: the belt. The belt was a stunning sterling silver, with a gold crest of the god, Chronos: master of time. The crest had small buttons on it, similar to those on a timepiece. One said ''year'', the other read ''date'' and the other said ''location''. I shuddered at the ''location'' button. Just the thought of the place I was going to made words of a friend ring inside of my head...
''I'll wait for you in the stars, SpongeBob... don't forget me!''
''You!'' a cold, demented voice screeched out behind me. It was Master, surrounded by robots and androids. I leaped in the air with spindly, spider-like ease as the beams from their plasma cannons swept past the tips of my toenails. I kicked back one of the plasma beams with my foot. A high pitched howl erupted from my lips. I fell to the floor with a crash as my foot was bathed in sticky, hot, trickling blood. The pain was agonizingly seeping through my nervous system. Though it caused me intense pain, I stood up and rushed through the metal minions and their manipulating mastermind. ''Don't stand there, you twits! Get that little yellow fool!'' Plankton commanded harshly slapping a tall android upside the head.
The robots were in hot pursuit. I was turning the dials on the belt to my destination. I jumped into the air as one bot tried to snatch at my ankles. I slipped the belt around my waist as fast as I could. I could feel the belt vibrating and tingling my soft flesh. Before I had vanished in thin air, a robot had hit me in the back of my skull. The back of my head was sopping wet with crimson fluid. I was slowly losing speed as my head began to swim. I felt cold metal hands around my neck as the belt clicked...
And everything went white...
As I flew... through time.

I ambled my way to the metal door of she who dwelled inside. I banged on it relentlessly as I lost my grip on reality! ''Open! Open up, please! d**nit, open up!" I sobbed at the top of my lungs. A person ran up to the door and opened it, staring through me with large, shocked brown pupils. ''S-S-SpongeBob?!?'' the girl stammered into the warm night. I fell to the sand and hugged her ankles. ''S-S-Sand... y...'' I then felt myself slipping slowly into a deep, painfull coma...
Time... is the key!
