Summary: I'm going to do a re-write for the episode Texas. Kind of like a how it should have ended thing. I have a story on Fanfiction.net on how Texas should have ended, but I was thinking about writing it again, hopefully better. I'm not sure if I want to make this a multi chapter story or if I want to finish it all in one post.

I read your first rewrite of the episode and it was real sweet! My favorite part was when SpongeBob asked "With you goneā¦ who am I supposed to love?" That was so cute and just...awww!! I can't wait to read your new fanfic!!

(Since Texas is a season one episode that would mean that Spongebob and Sandy would just be starting to get to know each other. Lets pretend it's a later episode.)
Over the years they've known each other Spongebob and Sandy have both secretly been in love with each other. For Spongebob it was almost instantly. The moment he met her he knew there was something special about her. He loved seeing her smile and seeing her eyes light up when she was happy or excited about something. For Sandy her crush on Spongebob was something he developed overtime. The first time she realized she had feelings for Spongebob was when she thought he went missing before her hibernation. She had to fight her hibernation instincts and search for him. She wasn't going to give up looking for him until she found him. When she found him she was thrilled, but Spongebob had something he wanted to tell her. She couldn't keep her eyes open anymore, what mattered to her was that Spongebob was safe. She thought it was kind of rude to fall asleep when he was talking to her. She was kind of curious as to what he was going to tell her but she pushed that thought aside. Sandy thought Spongebob was very cute, his childish laugh and his blue eyes. She loved his blue eyes, she tired not to get stare at him too long or he would get suspicious. Spongebob thought the same thing. It was hard not to stare at her beauty, but he wouldn't want her to get suspicious. Sandy thought he could be very sweet at times, but she didn't think he liked her the same way she liked him. Sometimes she would watch Spongebob and Patrick run by her house laughing and goofing off. She didn't think Spongebob could take a relationship seriously. That wasn't the only thing bothering her. She had been away from home for years now, she really missed her friends and family from Texas. Spongebob just so happened to come by on a day when she was down in the dumps and homesick. Spongebob was talking about his day at work, Sandy didn't seem very interested in the conversation. She looks out through her dome into the open water. She sighs which gets Spongebob's attention, the look on her face made Spongebob grow concerned about her.
"Is there something bothering you Sandy?"
"It's not really something you need to worry about Spongebob. I'm just feeling a little homesick I guess. I miss my friends and family from Texas. I don't think anyone here understands me."
"Oh sorry Sandy."
"It's ok Spongebob. I don't really think there is anything you can do."
Spongebob feels bad for Sandy and wished there was something he could do to cheer her up. Spongebob tells Sandy that he needed to use the restroom. He had been in her tree a few times before. As he went in Sandy's tree he gets an idea. Sandy would sometimes talk about her Texas culture. He had an idea of throwing a party for her to cheer her up. He thought about inviting a few of her friends and family. He saw a piece of paper and a pencil and he looked through Sandy's phone numbers so he could write down her parent's phone number. He writes down the number and put the piece of paper in his pocket and left with a big smile on his face while thinking to himself.
(Sandy is going to be so surprised.)
Sandy watched as Spongebob left. She thought Spongebob was going to stick around to cheer her up.
(So you're just going to leave. As if it wasn't lonely enough around here before.)
Spongebob saw the look on her face before he left as if she didn't want him to leave, but she didn't say anything to him. He felt bad for leaving like this but he had work to do. It was the last day that Spongebob had to work so he went home and immediately dialed the number in his pocket. He was sure it was the number for Sandy's parents. He felt nervous because he's never met Sandy's parents before. There was a voice on the other end, it was Sandy's mom.
"Hello? Cheeks residence."
"Hi... You probably don't know me but I'm a good friend of Sandy's. My name is Spongebob Squarepants."
"Well Sandy does sometimes talk to me about you."
"She does? What does she say?"
"I'm sorry, I can't tell you that. Why are you calling Spongebob?"
"I'm calling because Sandy doesn't seem very happy here anymore. She told me that she misses you and the rest of her family and friends. Sandy feels out of place here in Bikini Bottom I guess. I was thinking that if I called you, you would be able to get together the rest of her family and friends and bring them here to Bikini Bottom. I was thinking about throwing her a Texas themed party to cheer her up. I'm sure you would love to see Sandy. I know she would love to see you. All I want is for Sandy to be happy."
"Well that's awfully sweet of you to do that for her. Just give us the time and place with directions and we'll be right down."
Spongebob gives the time and directions and happily hangs up the phone. He had a big surprise planned for Sandy, he wanted to make sure all of her friends and family were around to make her happy. Spongebob had the surprise party planned for her in two days at five at the Krusty Krab. Two days go by and Spongebob goes downtown to make a few stops for Sandy. What he didn't know was that Sandy planned on leaving that same day. She felt sad and out of place. She felt like Spongebob would never like her the way she liked him. Sandy kept wondering if she should tell Spongebob she was leaving. He would try to stop her if he found out, but it would hurt her even more if she left without saying goodbye. One good thing about being away from home so long is that she recently found a way to breathe underwater. Sandy no longer needed a suit and helmet. Finally she decided to leave quietly and without being seen. She grabbed her suitcases and opened the door. Just as Spongebob was about to open the door Sandy opens the door instead. At first he was happy to see her until he saw her carrying bags.
"Hey Sandy... What's going on?"
"I'm going home Spongebob."
"What?"
"I'm not happy here anymore Spongebob. I never belonged here, no one understands me."
"We can change that Sandy. Bikini Bottom is a very accepting place. People here are nice Sandy."
"I miss my family Spongebob, I've been away from home for far too long now."
A bus pulls up and Sandy was about to leave.
"Wait Sandy... I don't think that is your only problem."
"What?"
"Something else is bothering you, something you're not telling me, something you're hiding from me."
Sandy gets all defensive. She couldn't believe Spongebob thought she was hiding something. Even if she was it was none of his business.
"So what if I am?"
"I want to help you Sandy. How am I supposed to help you if you don't tell me what's bothering you?"
"My problems are my business, I don't need a psychiatrist."
The bus driver had been waiting for a few minutes now and was getting impatient.
"Hey if you're coming come on already. I don't have all day."
This gets the attention of some of the passengers. They watch the scene that unfolds.
"Sorry. I'm coming."
"Wait Sandy... You're just going to leave. Are you ever coming back?"
"I'm going home Spongebob. My home is in Texas."
"After all we've been through... You were just going to leave me without even saying goodbye. If I hadn't of come over when I did you could have been gone and I would have never got to say goodbye to you. Do you really have to go Sandy?"
"Well... Just a visit here and there... What good will that do?"
Spongebob was quiet for a moment. He wasn't sure if there was anything he could do to stop her without spoiling the surprise party. He didn't know if anything he could say could stop her from leaving. Sandy started getting on the bus.
"A visit here and there is better than no visit at all. How do I know you won't forget about me?"
She turns back to face him. She could tell something was wrong, she felt bad about leaving. She still wasn't completely sure if she wanted to leave.
"How could I ever forget about you? You've been a good friend Spongebob. Even if I leave... It won't be forever. Friendships with you... They last a lifetime."
Sandy puts down her stuff and gives him a hug. A few tears went down her face. The people watching were touched by their bond.
"I'm going to miss you Sandy, but I just want you to be happy, and if this makes you happy, then I'm happy."
"I'll miss you too Spongebob."
Sandy was about to get on the bus, she has her back turned to him and she didn't see what he was doing. He reached into his back pocket. There were a few gasps from the people on the bus.
"Wait Sandy... Before you go... I want you to have something."
As more people saw what he had they encouraged her to turn around. She turned around to face him again and she saw him on one knee with a ring in front of her. She was so shocked that she dropped her suit cases.
"Oh my... Spongebob. What is going on?"
"I think there was something else bothering you Sandy. Something other than you just being homesick. I could tell last time I left you didn't really want me to go. It got me thinking that maybe you've liked me for a long time, but never thought I was mature enough to like you back. Sandy... We've been friends for years, but I've been in love with you since the day I met you. I know I can't stop you from leaving, but I thought I would take a chance anyway. I want you to have this Sandy even if you don't feel the same way. I love you Sandy... Will you marry me?"
Sandy couldn't believe this was happening. She already dropped her stuff. She shed a few tears, but ran down to hug him tight.
"Yes Spongebob! I love you too. You don't know how long I've waited for this."
Spongebob slides the ring on Sandy's finger.
"A perfect fit Sandy."
She kisses him and the crowd on the bus when aw, then they clapped and cheered.
Sandy grabs her stuff off the bus and places it back in her treedome, she would come back to unpack later.
"You know Sandy... I wasn't exactly supposed to purpose to you just yet... It was supposed to be later on. Come with me Sandy."
Spongebob takes her hand as they walk to the Krusty Krab. A bunch of people yell surprise as they walk in the door. Everything was Texas themed. Sandy saw people from Bikini Bottom that she knew, but was even more surprised when she saw her family and friends from Texas. She ran up to hug her parents. Everyone she loved was all around her.
"How is all of this possible?"
"I invited them for you Sandy. I knew you missed your family and friends and you felt kind of left out here in Bikini Bottom so we all gathered around here together to throw you this big Texas party. Do you like it Sandy?"
"I love it Spongebob, but not as much as I love all of you."
Sandy hugs Spongebob tight.
"Why didn't you tell me my parents were here? I would have been leaving for nothing."
"I didn't want to spoil the surprise Sandy. I already ruined one."
Sandy looks down at her hand at the ring on we finger. Spongebob did all of this to make her happy.
"How did you do all of this Spongebob?"
"Well over the years you've told me a little bit about Texas, but I kind of called your parents and they helped me out with this. The part that made me the most nervous was having to ask them for your hand in marriage because they've never really met me before."
"I've talked to them about you here and there... They knew I liked you for a while now. All they want is for me to be happy."
"Just like I do Sandy. I would do anything for you, anything to make you smile. The way your eyes light up the way they did when I asked you."
They smile and kiss each other without really paying attention or caring who saw. Then they danced to the music that was playing, they ate barbecue, they had cake and ice cream. Everyone was having a good time. Sandy properly introduces Spongebob to her friends and family. They all seemed to get along perfectly. They sat together and discussed wedding plans. Then when the party was over Sandy said goodbye as her friends and family left. They cleaned up the Krusty Krab and they left. Spongebob and Sandy were the last ones to leave. They walked out of the Krusty Krab hand in hand as the moon shone brightly down on them. If they were going to be married soon that would mean they would have to choose where they live. Sandy still hadn't figured out Spongebob's helmet issue. If they decided to move back to Texas she would want to figure out a way for him to go without a water helmet. So she decided to stay in Bikini Bottom. Spongebob was more than happy to let her stay at his pineapple. Sandy grabbed her things and unpacked. It would take a little while to get used to living somewhere else, but as long as she was with someone she loved she didn't care. Sandy replayed the day through her head. She was sad because she missed her family and friends and thought that Spongebob would neverlove her, but then Spongebob pulls the biggest surprise of her life and purposes to her, then takes her to the Krusty Krab for a big Texas party and all of her friends and family were there. She couldn't ask for a better day and she could ask for a better life. Soon her and Spongebob would be married, it all seemed too good to be true. She looked down at the ring on her finger. It was all true, he really loved her and soon they would be married. On the wedding day all of her friends and family came for their wedding. Everyone was happy for them. Her parents were proud of her just like Spongebob's parents were proud of them. After the wedding Spongebob and Sandy became Bikini Bottom's celebrity couple so to say. Everyone wanted to be like them and to have their love and happiness.
(The End. I hope this story was better than the episode, or even better than my other stories.)

I loved it! It was cute and just perfect that he proposed right when she was about to leave, and the people on the bus all gasping and urging Sandy to turn around! I would have done that too XD And Sandy's mom's line "I'm sorry, I can't tell you that.", when SpongeBob asked what Sandy says about him, made me laugh. This was a really good rewrite of the episode!

I liked the way in which re-wrote the episode like if it had been later when they are better known and their feelings for each other are deeper
