Well, I'm in Austin, listening to my cousin laugh at my doggies howling. The trip up was interesting, to say in the least...my Sheldon wouldn't stop whining, my Tobias slept the whole time, and I saw the Frito-Lay factory and thirty buses on convoy to get peoples out!!! I'll be posting some pictures of the journeys soon...and of my Spandy-lovin' aunt's SB-themed bathroom...it's pretty cool! And the episode Ripped Pants will always stand out to me, because I saw it for the first time in years right before I evacuated...never before noticed how sad Sandy was when she thought SB was dying...

Wow. I don't think I could handle an evac. I'm not good at uprooting myself. & I've never gone to Texas! *looks at a map of Texas* Ohh! I've never known where Houston or Austin were in the state. lol. Haha. Don't worry 'bout the rant. I rant all the time! teehee. I'd be scared to evacuate from somewhere alone..haha. I'm 18 too. lol. Have you done it before this? Up here in MI, we get all types of weather(never hurricanes though...unless there'd be a great lakes hurricane..hmmm)...t-storms(which bring tornados) and hot weather...medium weather...cold weather...REALLY cold weather....snow storms...some flooding(but not much where I am)... So you left your car at home? What about school? hm...

I've evacuated once back in 2005 when Rita hit...that was crazy. Dad spoiled me like crazy, cuz he thought I'd be traumatized or something...XD And I've probably had to leave when I was a baby, but I'm not sure. And college kicked us out at 10:00am this morning. Though I still had to take that fishpasted test...*snarl*... My poor Felicity has to sleep outside and in a kennel... Pictures, by the by, will be posted when I get home...provided the computer works...

It’s a really good thing that you evacuated Angel. Ike is incredibly dangerous… Ike reminds me of two of the most powerful Atlantic hurricanes in history: Katrina (2005 Season) and Wilma (2005 Season). Ike is the same geographical size as Katrina and has a “pinhole eye” like Wilma (a pinhole eye enables hurricanes to rapidly change strength). I read on a weather forum that television meteorologists in Houston were talking about 100mph winds in downtown Houston. I have a question Angel. Are people where you live treating this storm as seriously as Rita? I get the sense that many people in the storm’s path are complacent right now. The mayor of Galveston hasn’t even ordered a mandatory evacuation yet and told people during a news conference that they would only see Category 1 winds despite the fact that the computer models were shifting Ike’s forecasted path closer to Galveston.
I hope you and your family remain safe in this storm. I also hope that your property and your family’s property also remain safe.

Yeah, I was thinking of Katrina, too...and of something one of my professors said a while back: "It's been fifteen years since we last had a serious hurricane, and it seems to go in cycles. This year, we're probably going to get a serious hurricane." Freaked the heck outta me; I had to get out of the house and buy myself a book to calm myself down!
I know Freeport and Corpus Christi had a mandatory evac, but I'm not too sure about Galveston. However, when we left, it was like a ghost town; a lot of windows were boarded (including most of ours), and there weren't very many cars. We didn't really hit any traffic until Austin, but that's just normal for Austin. XD So, either everyone left before us or they're leaving after us. I'm not sure.
Something that cracked me up about Ike: they were talking about the branch that hit Florida, and how it was knocking people off the jetties into the water. I remarked, "Wait...it's a hurricanne...what are they doing outside, anyway? When a guy gets blown off the jetties, that should be a sign to go inside!" My mom overheard me and said, "Well, it's not the whole hurricane. Besides, one guy falling isn't that big of a deal..." I said, "But it was several people." And we burst into laughter at the sight of people flying into the water.

Yep...I'm going over to my cool aunt's house this afternoon (the Spandy fan), and I just learned they're not vegetarians anymore. Whee... But I'm gonna snap a picture of her bathroom for y'all to see just how much of an SB fan she is! And, if she lets me, a picture of her, too...she kinda looks like Carolyn Lawrence, I think... *EDIT* I'm at my aunt's house, but her SB-themed bathroom is no longer SB-themed!

Live in a water tower like Aquamarine! Lolz... An apple water tower?! I'd love to see that...espcially if there's a hurricane in it... I'm living dangerously: I got myself a bikini (for $9.50). And now, my cousin is watching The Barney Movie...If aaaaaaall the raindrops were lemondrops and gumdrops, oh what a rain that would be...OH HELP ME!!!! But it was awesome at the Spandy aunt's house....this one's so crowded, I might go back...especially if it does, indeed, take weeks for my home area to get back to normal...-_-...

OMGoodness I know! I heard them say it might take weeks for the power down there to be restored. Is it storming where you are, Angel? It's still raining here. It has been for nearly three days straight with no end...but I'm weird..and I like overcast and rainy days so it suits me. hehe. College Spanish hw is stupid, btw. I'm sick of it and so confused! AHHHH!

At least you have friggin' homework...I'M SO FRIGGIN' BORED!!!
And, nope, no rain here in Austin...lots of clouds, though...
And, if it does take weeks...I'm running away. Seriously, I'm creeping back into town. I don't care. I just don't think I can stay here for much longer...two more days, maximum...
