As a whole, Season 5 was not a very good one for SBxSC fans. However, Season 5 included perhaps the best SBxSC episode of them all!
Waiting:
There was small evidence that SpongeBob liked Sandy. SpongeBob's crying was most intense when he yelled Sandy's name.
Spy Buddies:
I am sick of watching episodes with Patrick as SpongeBob's main sidekick. I am beginning to hate Patrick...
To Love a Patty:
This is officially the worst episode ever made. I hated this episode! It would had been better if Sandy had not appeared in the episode. It is a slap in the face to SBxSC fans! Perhaps the only good thing that came from this episode is that it proved was that SpongeBob was straight.
A Flea in Her Dome:
"A Flea in Her Dome" was as good as "To Love a Patty" was bad. This episode in my mind is better than "Ripped Pants". We learn that SpongeBob cannot live without being with Sandy for more than a day. We also learn that SpongeBob is obsessed with Sandy as he literally counted down the time until her return. Patrick's presence actually highlights the special friendship that SpongeBob and Sandy have. Patrick didn't know who Sandy was and Patrick was the only one who spoke against Sandy.
The first five minutes of the episode was essentially SBxSC. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw SpongeBob charm Sandy as she held him and when SpongeBob held Sandy's hand as he walked inside her house. I was even more intrigued by the SpongeBob's tone of voice when he told Sandy "We made this cake especially for your return".
The Blackened Sponge
Sandy showed great concern for SpongeBob when she discovered his eye injury... In fact, she offered to treat his injury. My favorite part is when Sandy knelled to the ground and put her arm on SpongeBob
Atlantis SquarePantis
It sounded like SpongeBob was infatuated with Sandy when he said "Quite" to LHR. Sandy only showed concern for SpongeBob when she used him as a weapon/shield against LHR's palace guard.
Stanley S. Squarepants:
SpongeBob briefly meets Sandy to show her his cousin. We learn in this episode that SpongeBob has tried to help Sandy's cousin get a job.
To Save a Squirrel:
The title of this episode was completely misleading! I was ready to throw my remote at the TV in anger! However, I noticed how "Sandy" picked up SpongeBob, smiled at him, and said "You're stuck with me for the rest of your life"! "Sandy" seemed quite happy with the thought of spending the rest of her life with SpongeBob. The scene probably meant nothing, but it was interesting enough to mention it.
