It was a dark night, in the year 1999. My dad had just woken me up from my crib, and carried me to the family room. He sat me down on the couch. I looked at him with eyes as big as tennis balls. I patted my head and said, ''M, I think you're going to like this. I crawled into his lap as he grabbed the remote and switched it to Nickelodeon. Before I could even giggle, I saw a pirate appear on screen, saying ''Are ya ready kids!" I didn't know what that meant, but I nodded my head. My tiny heart was beating at the speed of sound, as I saw a small cheese like character appear on screen. When the themesong ended, I was plunged into a world of sponges, stars, squids, squirrels, and crabs... I felt at that moment, like I was in a wonderland. My dad busted out laughing at every adult joke. Year after year after that one wonderful night, my interest grew into obsession. I had SpongeBob DVDs, VHSs, plushies, legoes, cereal... I had it all. Today I stand before you as the girl who is the number #2 SpongeBob fan (because the #1 spot belongs to Patchy). The girl who draws him nonstop, and the kid who believes in Sponge Squirrel love. Every weekend I head up to the house of the man who plunged me into my undersea world of fantasy and magic, my dad, and watch SpongeBob, new and old episodes, and laugh out loud at every moment.
Without that July night, I wouldn't have been here right now, posting this. I owe my personality to my dad, and especially... SpongeBob SquarePants
I love you, Bob.
