I just realized...
This is the twentieth anniversary of the death of Jim Henson... (technically it's May 16 to the ACTUAL date, but the sadness welling up inside of my heart is weighing me down so much, I gotta say something.)
For those of you who don't know, Jim Henson was the greatest minds of the 20th century. On May 16th 1990, we lost him to serious streptococcylus (not sure how to spell it). The horrible thing is that he could've been saved. But, his religion was that of Christian Scientists, meaning he did not believe in medicinal purposes. He died during his operation... causing all hearts of the world to bleed. Kermit, technically devastated by the loss of his ''father'' some might say, loved Jim very much. Jim was the one who had opened Kermit's eyes to the world to see. Though I did not know this man myself, my heart is breaking with every word. I find myself crying silent tears right now as my fingers slowly race across the keys. Mr. Henson is a person I hold dear to my heart, though we never met. I always wanted to meet him, but I was born seven years later after his death.
What's even worse about this matter, is that this year is also Kermit's 55th anniversary... no doubt how this hurts so many people.
What I want to know is; WHY?
Why did he have to leave us... just when the Muppets were in their prime? Why did Death come so early?
Why Jim of all people?
When you reply to this, please pay your respects to Mr. Henson. It will do my heart good, and many other Muppet fans who grew up, or were born after the greatest tradgedy of the 90's era.
To commemorate him, please visit the wonderful gallery of Peter Savieri and his Muppet Tears pieces:

Goodbye.
