I start Year 9 in September, which is when I choose which GCSEs I want to take in Year 10 and 11 which will help me get a job (or get into uni) when I leave school and we have to start thinking about what jobs we wanna do...and well, I have no idea what I wanna do! I want to do something involving art but I'm not sure what kind of job.
I'm asking you guys for advice cause I consider you my closest friends and your all extremely knowledgeable. And well, your the only people who take any interest in my art at all.
I've tried looking on career sites but I still have no idea, I can't really say I want to be an artist cause I'll automatically be stuck in Painting and Drawing and be forced to learn to draw realistically for two or so years. I just don't know what all those artistic jobs require, I'm just scared I can't qualify cause my art isn't a realistic style.
Please help me guys? I just want an opinion, what job do you think I could do?

Just sayin', my advice will probably be crap-- If you really wanna be an artist, I say go for it! But if you don't wanna be in art class... Hmm, I'm honestly not sure. (or it my just be that it's nearly midnight here and I might just be slightly delerious XD) I'm sorry if that don't really help... ^^;

Well we have to take an art GCSE at my school anyway, but we have a choice of P&D, 3D Studies and Textiles, I wanna do 3D cause it's the only one of those three I can do.
And it's more a case of what sort of artist, I could probably go in for illustration, that's an area that ain't to picky about art styles.

I really want to work as a storyboard artist or animator somewhere. It's my dream! But I think it's required for you to take realism classes to get into stuff like that. You need to take a billion different classes and eventually make up a portfolio for your employers.

Hm... have you ever thought of creating your own cartoon characters and writing comics for them? You write pretty awesome comics for neopets!
*short story* I did a character design of me and my friend's spy characters (the raccoon and bee if you've seen them on dA) and we're thinking about writing funny children's books about them!
It's a lot of fun making up all these things for them. Like there's restaurants and funparks and all kinds of stuff! I bet you would be great at it!

Hm, well I always wanted to be an animator or a cartoonist. But this isn't about me. In my opinion GG, you should probably become a cartoonist.

Hehe, thanks Jingle, I think I got that style from either The Simpsons or SpongeBob, whichever it was, atleast it separates me from all those realistic and anime artists.
