I think the problem is that these writers probably haven't even watched the first four seasons, judging how they've nearly wiped out all traces of Spandy... and Sandy, for that matter. Four was... all right... but one through three were magical. All four had hints, and Sandy made regular appearances. But now, it's like she was killed off and was replaced by Pearl.

HOWEVER. No matter how horrible the new episodes my get, no matter what happens, even if Bob and Sandy are separated all the way until season-- I dunno...-- twenty, I'll never give up hope for this couple. I'm putting my foot down.

Well, SpongeBob has lost the zaniness and bouncy humor it had in the first four seasons. Now its made up of disturbing facial expressions and Squid-stalking. I really don't think that the writers are following the original SpongeBob formula.
