You see, I got this rough idea for a story. But cause I get paranoid about getting flamed for being unoriginal and stuff, I need to know A) if it sounds interesting and B) if it's ripping off Avatar or something like that *does not have a good knowledge of non-British media*.
Sooooo...basically this story takes place in a world similar to Earth, that's ruled by these creatures called 'element guardians', who control the eight elements that rule that planet (fire, light, ice, air, earth, water, dark and space). Someone (normally a guardian) has to control and habour the magic behind an element, if someone didn't then the world would be thrown into chaos (like floods and earthquakes). One day however, every single guardian becomes unable to control any element (it's something that happens every 1000 years or so and lasts for about 20-30 years). Seeing as the world would be in danger if no one controled the elements, eight ordinary humans are called upon to habour and control the elements.
There's a couple of subplots too, but I won't go on about them cause they're romance plots, and you don't wanna hear about them, do you?
I know, it sounds extremely stupid and crappy. And you're probably confused due to my rubbish explaing skills. There's a whole lot of science and magic I haven't got time to explain, but when I make into a proper story, I'll find a better way to explain it.
I'm still trying to think of a good title, I'm thinking of 'Elementally Challenging' or sommat along them lines, but if you can think of something better, well feel free to tell me.
