Hi guys, merry belated Christmas and New Year from me! So of course as most of you know the new movie Sponge out of water is very close to its release, and naturally, being the avid SpongeBob fan that I am I have been on that like a tramp on chips Plus being a spandy fan, I have been, like you guys, wondering if anything between SpongeBob and sandy will happen. In video it’s hard to tell…BUT I have found two things to suggest there will be.
The first is a song called, “Sandy Squirrel”, by N.E.R.D, who have made as far as we know, three songs for the film. It is an original theme for Sandy, and I find it... interesting; whether it is your taste in style is another story, but the lyrics are the best bit. I found an article online that briefly talks about this song and the song “Patrick Star”, and how they seem to give away “two major” plot points. Of course we won’t know if this is so until seeing the film, but listening to the song and seeing this article has….excited me to no end, Haha xD
Anyway the second thing I wanted to mention is the new app game “Sponge on the run”. For those who don’t know, as SpongeBob, you are playing his world’s equivalent to Temple run (if you don’t know what that is, check it out). Each time you crash into something as him, you lose a life. When you run out of lives, and the game is over, a quote is said by SpongeBob. He says, “Tell Sandy I love her.” I first saw mention of this on the SpongeBob mania site, where talk of Spandy has been discussed recently. The responding members to a person’s question seemed negative and they probably need proof. I have found the proof in a play through, and skimming through, it seems the line is a consistent every time you run out of lives, as SpongeBob.
Here is the link below to the “Sponge on the Run”. First go to 4:15, and you will hear the line after a few seconds. Then go to 9:40, and then you hear it again, which is why I think it is consistent, and may be significant to the film.
And here is the article that I found about the newly released songs. Some of the lyrics are hard to understand for me, personally. Also, you will need Spotify for this, I don’t know if you can find it anywhere else at the moment, but here it is anyway:
Not many articles mention anything to do with what the songs are going on about, but I am happy one does, and it only brings more of the “Spandy spirit” in me. So anyway, tell me what you guys think!
Note: I wasn't sure where to start this thread since it is about the movie and discusses potential evidence, but I figured, it has links so...why not.
Edit: Okay, I have found other videos for the app game and the line might not be, but for some reason that copy of the game made it seem so. There are other lines to from the look of it...but I like the spandy better, ahah [> www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KYdqhcebzk <]

I wish there were Spandy hints in the actual movie!! Sandy Squirrel You're the ocean in my world Or an oyster, you're my pearl You're the only one for me I'm sorry Mr. Krab (it's Krabs but whatever) Yes, I know the daughter you have But c'mon man, you can't be mad I've got a squirrel livin' in the sea!Well, that's all I understood. I was really excited with the lyrics I could actually understand, but the melody and style of the song is... And that one part is so repetitive I can't get it out of my head. I really want that "Sponge On The Run" app. I'd make SpongeBob die on purpose the whole time just to hear those 5 words over and over and over again. (That sounds pretty mean but whatever)

ooh, I saw that thread that energiafenix created, how she saw it in mexico....that disappoints me..A lot. I would like to think that any spandy moments are actually in the film, just rather subtle, but who am I kidding :/ It seems baffling as to why a film would be made with no moments, and a song composed for a character that sounds, well, so romantic! Haha, it does sound mean, but in this case, your reasons are valid, LOL xD Well from what I observed from another video, it doesn't actually always get said, but that one video link I attached to the thread made seem like it was....All I know is, the line is said, and I am happy. I need the game xD I have to wait until late March to see the film since I am in the UK (GOD d**nIT!) so gotta hold out until then. I want to see the film anyway, but it would be nice to see some spandy moments. Do you think it will appear in the series, if it isn't in the movie? We are after all waiting to see more episodes to come now.

I can't believe they're putting a song like that in the soundtrack and then we don't even get a single HINT in the movie! Now I'm just guessing the song will be played during the credits. Which gives us hope: In the first movie "Best Day Ever" was played during the credits (ah... good memories...) and later on they DID make an episode about it! Maybe they'd finally do "Surfaces of Love", I wouldn't even mind if they confess their feelings and then something happens at the end of the episode where they both forget it and everything goes back to normal. XD Either way, I'm sure they'll put some Spandy moments in the new episodes. They've been putting spandy hints in there since 1999! I have to wait too. Not as long, the movie premieres in Germany about 2 weeks after the states... (no wonder I get homesick all the time ) it has been out in the Netherlands for 5 days now, and they actually play the English version in some places. I was thinking about going there but it's silly since I have less than 18 days to wait and then I'll have only a short drive to the movie theater instead of 3-4 hours! So I'm watching it in German the day it comes out here and then in English ASAP. Anyway, with that app, we now have proof that SpongeBob LOVES Sandy! Right?

I can't understand. Really. The game, the song on soundtrack, the romantic and cute moments between Spongebob and Sandy in the show. So, Why Nickelodeon writers are still resisting to make spandy official at the show?

I just saw the movie tonight; Sandy had a large role but there weren't any recognizable hints. Glad to know that it's in the game!!

I think it'd change the show too much. i'm glad Sandy has a big role in the movie- hopefully she'll be in the new episodes more often!

Yeah, the show has no consistency to begin with, so making SB and Sandy a couple would force them to think chronologically.

Knowing that Sandy has a bigger role is definitely a good sign, when you consider how she barely did in the first film I am kinda peeved though that she doesn't have promotional images like the guys do Especially when she is supposed to be a main character and has a large role! just-why? It would be better if any kind of romance in the show were more subtle or were established in the end, possibly. The show's non-chronological format kind of bothers me, but that might just be because I am nuts and like order lol I can definitely see why it would not be a good idea to include romance, for your reasons Muffin. I suppose looking at it from a different angle, including it would mean you could still keep it's original format so romance does not dominate over how the show has been for so long, but is there on occasion. Nah, probably wouldn't work, haha Also what alwaysatexasgirl mentioned earlier on the thread, the song, "Sandy Squirrel", is apparently in the credits of the film. Is it possible that, like Best Day Ever, the song may reappear or a plot of sorts based on Sandy Squirrel will appear sometime in the future? Be it hints or something more solid? also, found the song on YouTube, so people don't have to go through the hastle of setting up spotify or something to get to it www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVh8VC0g4us

Found another video with the line www.youtube.com/watch?v=th1N938evb8&feature=youtu.be&t=4m24sHe has many Game Over lines, so it's mostly random. There is another one of someone playing the game, he says it again but the player talks over it. As for the song, one of the lines I caught was "Why, why, why do I feel like cryin'?" "Every time ya leave girl I spend my dime" (do people even use payphones anymore?) "I wanna call Texas but I ain't no time" "I know I live in water but I feel like cryin'" So, he lives in water, if it's not Spongebob, it's someone who's a sea critter.

I hope it is SpongeBob singing the song, it'd make sense with him crying the whole time at least and the dime being his salary at the Krusty Krab. I bet they use pay phones in Bikini Bottom, I've never seen them use cellphones before... Thanks for posting more of the lyrics!
If they do do an episode about any of the songs I hope it won't be "Squeeze Me". That song has the most creepiest lyrics. But they could make a little romance on the show work, if SpongeBob and Sandy hung out alone a little more during episodes. Not at fancy romantic dates but something like they did in the earlier seasons, go to the beach, watch movies and have picnics together. PLUS a few tiny spandy hints. Then we (spandy fans) could say they're finally dating and everyone who doesn't like the ship can believe SpongeBob and Sandy are just friends hanging out together.

I hope it is SpongeBob singing the song, it'd make sense with him crying the whole time at least Remember A Flea in Her Dome? Remember all that beautiful crying? Bliss, that's what that was.
