When I heard this for first time I thought:"this is a joke, can no be true". After, I saw stories and draws about this, and I said:"Ok, some people like this". Now,I see many videos, drawings, stories and Squandy-Squindy fans, and finally,I think :"oooookeeeeyyyyy, this is strange and worrying. My reaction to the dA group (even though I have the mature content hidden): "MY EYES!!!!!!!" That. was. the. most. weirdest. video. I. have. ever. seen. And I thought the exact same thing as you when I first saw that ship. I was like "this is one weird crack pairing!" Then I watched various fanfictions pop up... I hate it when I hear people say spandy is "disrespecting SpongeBob's character" because Stephan Hillenburg said Spongy's an asexual- BUT THERE ARE SPANDY HINTS EVERYWHERE! And then, there's this SquidwardXSandy ship, that suddenly lots of people are beginning to like. Also, here are about... hmm... 4 squandy hints in the entire series? And by hints I mean stuff like the nickname "Squidcakes" and Squidward riding on Sandy's back in the 2nd movie. (That was also in the trailer BTW) I just don't get it. I mean, (I'm being a somewhat of a hypocrite here because my OTP is a sea sponge and a squirrel) but a squirrel and an octopus?! ...Who aren't even friends?! The only mutual thing they have is their friend SPONGEBOB, who Squidward (most of the time) HATES and Sandy cares about very much! Now, to the fanfictions: I read PurpleaVanilla's squandy fanfic a while back and the funny thing is that even though it's Squidward/Sandy, there are still a couple of spandy references. And I actually -I'm so sorry- have read ONE squandy story that I somewhat liked. m.fanfiction.net/s/10013586/1/Odd-Couple The story was cute and well written... despite the couple it was about. ALSO; Squidward liked Squilvia. She looked nothing like Sandy. She talked nothing like Sandy and she acted nothing like Sandy. Yes, she's a one time character, but it was obvious that Squidward liked her and he has not once acted that way around Sandy. Sandy likes SpongeBob. Even if she does only like him in a platonic way, I doubt she'd ever develop feelings like that for Squidward. Not only that, but I personally think Sandy and Squidward would be a disgusting couple. They just really, really don't fit together in my mind. |

I feel so relieved for not be the only. You didn't could said it better. Maybe Spongebob and Sandy won't be together like a couple, but not is a impediment to enjoy cute moments between them.  |

I'm glad I'm not alone either!
I may have been too harsh on my comment up there though. I didn't mean to be rude to the squandy shippers or anything, I just can't stand thinking/seeing those two as a couple. I'm sure a bunch of people feel that way about SB and Sandy too :/

Well, I don't like this couple, but I don't hate people who like, I even drew Squandy already, but it was an arttrade for a friend, and she drew for me a Spandy pic X3
There aren't none Squandy hints in the show, fortunatelly, Squidward "hugs" her in the movie because he was the weakest and she the strongest. If you think about it, Squidward isn't a strong guy, since the only thing he does is art, Sandy pratices karate, SpongeBob aswell, Mr. Krabs was in the army, and Patrick looks a little more stronger than him aswell.
And he rides her for the same reason or maybe because she was the only way he could run fast. Since Patrick was riding SpongeBob, and Mr. Krabs was running fast.
So, no hints for Squandy, only hints for Spandy!!!

I don't hate the people who like squandy either... I just don't like the thought of Sandy being with Squidward.
I guess some could say the movie did have some squandy hints though.
But I think Mr. Krabs also held on to Sandy in the scene when they were stranded on Pelican Island...
Mr. Krabs and Sandy...

What?! People took that serious? Oh my... Sandy obviously didn't want to "kiss" Patrick. And Patrick didn't even know Sandy was a girl at one point.

OMG that's true, "that kiss" hahaahha it was so funny! I was so mad because I wanted to SpongeBob do that in her lol. But I love Bubble troubles. Great episode. I need to start shipping Sandy and Patrick, just for the fun lol Patrick and Sandy are more acceptable and make more sense than Squandy. |

Fun fact: in the the SpongeBob Wiki (Enciclopedia SpongeBobia) the pages SpongeBob, Patrick and Squidward had their infoboxes go through a massive edition a few days ago and Mr. Krabs and Plankton's pages went through the same big edition just yesterday where their infoboxes could only mention their most important jobs, main employees/employers and their MAIN friends and enemies (Main Characters some recurring characters and movie characters) From the main characters, they have each other, SpongeBob, Patrick, Plankton, Karen, Pearl (listed on the family section of Krabs' infobox and the conections section of Squidward's) and Mrs. Puff (who is listed as Krabs' girlfriend, and, from her POV and her page's infobox sees Squidward as a close friend) And guess what, Sandy is the only main character not listed ANYWHERE in their infoboxes, I guess it's clear, after 20 years and 12 seasons, that both Squidward and Mr. Krabs, from their POV, see Sandy only as an aquaintance. |

Wow. It’s been a long time since I’ve read this thread lol. I agree with whoever changed the wiki. Sandy and Squidward and Sandy and Mr. Krabs never really seemed like actual friends imo. I think Sandy would only hang out with Squidward in a group and vise versa.
